Join us for One Rotary Summit on Saturday, January 5, 2019. This annual event is a way for District 6600 Rotarians to network with other Rotarians and discuss the relationship between Membership, Public Image and Humanitarian Service.
This year’s One Rotary Summit content features Rotarians Jennifer Jones and Michael Angelo Caruso, as well as well-known writer and speaker, Simon Sinek. Whether you have attended previous One Rotary Summits or this is your first time attending, prepare to be energized and inspired.
One Rotary Summit is for ALL Rotarians- there is no title or rank necessary to be a part of this day. Gather a group from your club and join us for an awesome event!
Registration is at 8:30 AM and Summit runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and includes breakfast and lunch. The event will be held at Owens Community College in Findlay, Ohio in the Educational Center, Room 111. This is a free event sponsored by District 6600.
Immediately following One Rotary Summit we will offer two additional opportunities from 1:30-3 PM.
- Graphics- Learn how to make graphics for your club using three free and easy tools. Join Alison Frye for a practical and hands on session.
- Presidents Elect- Did you miss a fall PE gathering or have additional questions about becoming your club’s president? Join DGE Carolyn Huston to learn all about your path to club president.

Recently there have been two devastating natural disasters (Hurricane Michael and California Wildfires) in different parts of the country. Because District 6600 Rotarians are so compassionate, many have reached out asking about what Rotary is doing and the best way to help.
The Rotary Board of Trustees is asking Rotarians to support our fellow Rotarians through contributions that will directly impact those communities in needs.

Join us for a conference to explore the idea of peace and how we can make a difference right where we are. This event features Mohammed Eid, a Rotary Peace Scholar at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Mohammed is from the Gaza Strip, Palestine one of the most beautiful places in the world, yet also the site of some of the word conflict in the world. Mohammed will share his unique perspective related to his work and home country.
The main purpose of this event is to:
- Provide exposure to youth to the principles of peace & conflict resolution
- Develop baseline skills of reaching agreement and finding common ground
- How to address and resolve conflict
- How to set goals and effectively build a team
This FREE event is being held at Owens Community College (Heritage Hall) in Perrysburg from 9 AM – 4 PM. Registration is open at 8:30 AM.
Fostering Peace in our communities and across the globe is central to the work of Rotary. And while this is important for all Rotarians, encouraging our next generation of leaders to make Peace a priority is a special charge all of us share. This event is targeted towards members of our Interact and Rotaract Clubs and young professionals but all are welcome.

Rotary District 6600’s Medical Equipment and Supplies Abroad (MESA) Program is partnering with our district’s own Resource Centers International (RCI) to equip 18 pre-schools in Stann Creek, Belize this fall and you can join! Our time in-country will begin November 24 and conclude December 8. Plan to travel at least a day before and afterwards.
Volunteers will be asked to participate in assembling the various materials necessary to make the preschool a sustainable place of learning and community. On October 2, MESA shipped a container of supplies including gently used computers, software, and books to be used by children in Belize. Oftentimes, RCI supports schools in Spanish-speaking countries in Central America. Belize is an English-speaking country so there is no language barrier for Rotary volunteers to prevent interaction with these children and their teachers! While experience as an educator is ideal, your energy, passion and enthusiasm is all we need you to bring! Basic computer skills and familiarity with Windows and software installation is also helpful. Having people skills to interact with the various school personnel, parents and ministry of education staff is perhaps the most important contribution you can make. You should be prepared to give tutorials to teachers and others. RCI has performed this activity over 60 times in the last ten years.
A complete orientation will take place in Belize. Participants will be responsible for their own expenses which typically amount to approximately $1,000.
We are limiting participation to 10 people but we need one more as of October 4. Volunteers need a current passport and be current on their vaccinations; suggested vaccinations are Hepatitis A & B and a Flu shot. Three District Membership Summit Scheduled
Last Rotary Year, District 6600 led the all-star team in Membership! At our recent Rotary Zone Institute, District 6600 was named best in our sixteen district Zone for Membership growth percentage, net gain, and retention for Past Governor Deb’s year. Now, District Membership Chair John Hill and DG Maris want to take us to a new level!
Membership is critical to Rotary’s success. To provide the best experience possible, all three northern Ohio Rotary Districts are partnering to bring you a new event this year. We want our club leaders to join our Tri-District Membership Summit on Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Wooster, Ohio from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. In addition to meeting district leaders, you’ll also hear from Haris Sofradzija, Regional Membership Officer from Rotary International Headquarters. Meet us at the Shisler Conference Center to:
- Receive tools to build capacity for membership growth
- Hear best practices for engaging members
- Start to build your membership plan
