2010 Mesa Bike Tour
Each year the Tour takes new route, stopping at a different set of Rotary Clubs. This year's six-day Bike Tour starts from the Toledo Zoo on the morning July 10 and makes a 330-mile circuit of scenic Northwest Ohio, returning to Sylvania on July 15. The planned route is shown on the map.
Bikers can participate by riding the whole way, or as day riders for any part or parts of the circuit. As in past Tours, Rotary Clubs along the way will provide food, refreshments and fellowship. Support and rescue vehicles will accompany the riders. It will be a fun and safe ride for all ages. Why not invite your teenage children or grandchildren to ride with you?
Since it was organized by a group of bicyclists from Elyria, the Bike Tour has been the major fundraiser for MESA, raising about $220,000 over the past five years. To participate, riders need only complete and mail a registration form that can be downloaded from the MESA website ( http://www.RotaryMESA.org ). Additional details about the Tour can be found at the same site.
Riders also must pledge to raise funds to support MESA's international service mission. Anyone who can ride a bike and wants to participate is welcome. Of course, cash donations are always welcome, too.
