
Kenny is new RI President for 2009-2010

6/21 -- John Kenny, of the Rotary Club of Grangemouth, Central, Scotland, is the new President of Rotary International for 2009-10. He will become the president on July 1, 2009.
Kenny is a past dean of his local law faculty, a judge, and a notary. He is active in scouting and earned the Medal of Merit for helping form new scout groups in Eastern Europe. An elder of the Church of Scotland, hes served as session clerk and presbytery elder. Kenny was also appointed deputy lieutenant of his district by Queen Elizabeth II. He is a past president of both the Forth Valley Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Scottish Junior Chamber of Commerce. He is also past general legal counsel of Jaycees International.

2009 Mesa Bike Tour - Sponsor a Rider

6/1 -- An open invitation to ALL Rotary Clubs of District 6600 To Sponsor a Mesa Bike Tour Rider.As you have heard over the last few years, the MESA project organizes an annual Bike Tour to raise awareness and funds for the project. Since 2005 the Tour has raised over $150,000 for MESA, making it the primary means for financial resources for the project. Our goal this year is to top our goal of $50,000 that was reached in 2008; this year we want to shoot for $60,000. And for that we are asking for your club to participate in this major event.

6/1 -- The grand opening of the Celina Rotary Dog Park of West Bank was scheduled on May 12, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm. Craig Morton, Regional Manager of State Park, Grand Lake St. Marys Parks Dept. and Assistant Chief of the Division of Parks & Recreation, John Hunter will be present to congratulate Deb Borns, Celina Rotary president for her efforts in spearheading this project. Borns said This is a dream come true for all dog owners in this area to have a dog park on the lake where dogs and their owners can enjoy the lake and greenspace from dawn until dark.
